Introduction

How to reach there ?

The ghale gaun Lies to the great Annapurna Range which starts from Beshishar around 43 km North from Dumbre the popular stop at Prithivi Highway. Day 01:Fly Kathmandu-Lhasa.

Day 02:Sightseeing in Lhasa.

The Potala Palace:
Named after Mount Potala, the abode of Chenresig or Avalokitesvara, The Potala Palace, was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India, after an invasion and failed uprising in 1959. The first palace was built in 637 BC by the Tibetan king as a present for his bride Princess Wen Cheng of the Tang Dynasty of China which now is a museum. This landmark is one of the wonders of the eastern architecture. You will be able to be in the Throne Room, Meditation Room, Bedroom of Dalai lama and Chapels of different Buddhist Gods and Goddesses inside the Museum.

Drepung Monastery
Founded in 1416, Drepung Monastery approximately 8 KM to the west of central Lhasa was once Tibet's largest and most influential monastery which shelters about 700 monks and attracts pilgrims and visitors from around the world. It was the home of the Dalai Lamas before the Potala Palace was built in the 17th century. Resemblance to a heap of white rice from a distance it was called "Monastery of the Collecting-Rice" (Drepung Gompa) in Tibet. You will be able to visit the Assembly Hall which showcases the statue of Dalai Lama XIII which is lit by butter lamps and visitors are offered with holy water to purify themselves. There are different paintings, scriptures and statues of Buddha which are decorated throughout the building which brings solace to every person visiting it.

Day 03:Sightseeing in Lhasa.
Jokhang Temple Jokhang temple is the most scared temple in Tibet which is the reminiscence of 7th century Cultural Revolution of Tibet. The experience that you get in this temple is incomparable to any other instances that you get to experience. You can see the the Four Guardian Kings, two on either side inside the temple where the main assembly hall or Dukhang opens to a paved courtyard beneath the open sky. You will be welcomed by the row of butter lamps in the altar just before the main entrance to the temple.

The Norbulingkha
Norbulingkha meaning Jewel Park was the Summer Palace of Dalai Lamas in the western part of Lhasa. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site it once served as a administrative and religious centre from the time of Dalai Lama 7th. Within a walking distance from southwest of Potala Palace, this is the biggest human made garden in TIbet covering the area of around 36 hectares making it the hub for cultural songs, dances, music and festivals.

Day 04:Lhasa-Gyantse.
From Lhasa we will drive towards Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake. This lake is considered as the holiest lake and an important centre for Buddhist pilgrimage. Gyantse is one of the remote places of Tibet which is not under Chinese influence whose virginity offers you with the chance to interact and be exposed to the true Tibetan lifestyle.
Visit the main attractions:

Gyantse is popular for its Fortress, the Dzong, a very special building, the Kumbum, and a monastery, the Pelkor Chode. This monastery was found in 1418 and initially wa s comprised with numbers of monasteries inside which now only has one monastery. The Kimbum has a strange structure and is decorated with number of pictures and thousands of statues.

Day 05:Gyantse-Shigatse (3900m).
On fifth day we will drive to Shigatse & en-route visit Shalu Monastery. Shigatse (3900m) is the second largest town in Tibet and the traditional capital of Tsang. Visit Tashiluhnnpo Monastery, spectacular chapels and tombs of the Panchen Lamas & the Shigatse Free Market.

Day 06:Shigatse-Shegar then to Tingri(4300 m)
Drive Shigatse to Tingri via Lhatze.

Day 07:Tingri- Rongbuk (5200 m)
Drive Tingri to Rongbuk. Visit Rongbuk monastery and around.

Day 08:Rongbuk – EBC explore and back to Tingri ( 4300 m)
After breakfast Visit Everest base camp then drive back to Tingri for night halt.

Day 09:Tingri-Zhangmu (2300 m)
Drive through the nomad and Yak hightablends. to Zhagmu via Nyalam (3800 m), Lalung La pass (5050m) with panoramic view of Himalayan Peaks. With good weather conditions is possible to see the Mt. Everest, Cho Oyo, and the Shisha Pangma.

Day 10:Zhangmu - Kathmandu 116 km
Drive to Kathmandu through the Sunkosi river valley, following the old salt route from India to Tibet

What is Trekking ?

Trekking is another word for walking. However, the word trekking has become better known for the kind of walking, which takes you along trails winding up, down, over and around mountains.

Trekking is not mountaineering although some of the popular trails are used by mountaineering expeditions to get to their base camps. Most of the trails you walk on are still used predominantly by Nepali people for everyday travel and trade. It is not uncommon to be passed along the way by a Nepali porter carrying lengths of corrugated roofing iron slung.
Trekking is a way of seeing a mountain, its History, People and nature. You will walk through the streets of cities and villages and past the open front doors of houses; you will see the people at their daily tasks, the clouds forming below you and the magnificent mountains towering over you. By trekking you will be involved in a way you could never be in a car, bus, train or airplane; you can enjoy the friendliness of the people, feel the magnetism of the mountains, and be at one with the country and at peace with yourself. A trekking trip can be any length you choose. There are a number of short treks around the Kathmandu and Pokhara valleys which only take a day to complete. There are two or three day treks or treks from a week to a month. For those with the time you can combine a number of treks and spend months just walking around. Camping Trekking Information

Another style of trekking is to gather Sherpa’s, porters, food and equipment and take off on a trek with all the comforts and facilities of an organized trek. On such a trek you camp in tents, porters carry your gear, Sherpas set up camp and cook and serve meals. You carry a backpack with only a water bottle, camera and jacket. Trekkers, who opt for this approach, particularly with a small group of friends, often have a rewarding, enriching and enjoyable trip. You can use a trekking company in Nepal to make some or all of the arrangements, though you may have to shop for an agency that suits you. Some Nepalese trekking companies offer equipment for hire, some will arrange a single Sherpa or porter and some will undertake only the entire arrangements for a trek.

Teahouse Treks Information

It is a bit pretentious to call some of these village establishments a hotel, but the Nepalese use of English translates restaurant or eating-place as "hotel". Since the word hotel has been pre-empted, Nepalese use the word "lodge" for sleeping place or hotel. Thus, in the hills of Nepal a "hotel" has food, but may not provide a place to sleep, while a "lodge" always offers accommodation. Many innkeepers specify the services they provide by calling their establishments "Hotel & Lodge". To avoid all this semantic confusion, most people use hotel, lodge and teahouse interchangeably. In reality, you can usually find both accommodation and food at any trailside establishment. The most popular way to trek in Nepal for both Locals and Westerners is to travel from teahouse to teahouse. Hotel accommodation is most readily available in the Khumbu (Everest) region, the Langtang area and the entire Annapurna region. In these areas, you can operate with a bare minimum of equipment and rely on teahouses for food and shelter.

By arranging your food and accommodation locally, you can move at your own pace and set your own schedule. You can move faster or slower than others move and make side trips not possible with a large group. You can spend a day photographing mountains, flowers or people - or you can simply lie around for a day. Hotels provide a special meeting place for trekkers from throughout the world. You are free (within the limits imposed by your trekking permit) to alter your route and change your plans to visit other out-of the- way places as you learn about them. You will have a good opportunity to see how the people in the hills of Nepal live, work and eat and will probably develop at least a rudimentary knowledge of the Nepali language.

You are, however, dependent on facilities in villages or in heavily trekked regions. Therefore, you must trek in inhabited areas and on the better-known routes. You may need to alter your schedule to reach a certain hotel for lunch or dinner. You can miss a meal if there is no hotel when you need one or if the hotel you are counting on is closed. A few packets of biscuits in your backpack are good insurance against these rough spots. Most of the major routes are well documented, but they are also well travelled. A hotel can be out of food if there are many other trekkers or if you arrive late. You may have to change your planned destination for the day when you discover that the lunch you ordered at an inn will take a very long time to prepare. You will usually make this discovery only after you have already waited an hour or so. It is wise to be aware of these kinds of problems and to prepare yourself to deal with them.

Option 1:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft] 
Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport (TIA), you will be greeted by a representative from the Good Karma Trekking team holding a sign with your name in the parking lot. After a brief introduction, you will be escorted to your hotel. After check in, and welcome drinks you will be free to explore around the backpacker haven of Thamel.

Day 02: Kathmandu [1300 m/4264 ft]: 
Today after breakfast we will start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu including Durbar Square, and Pashupati temple that are both Unesco World Heritage Sites. You will also visit the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) that is one of the large Stupas in the world. 

Day 03: Drive to Lumbini    
Travel through the scenic Kathmandu Valley admiring the diverse architecture of different ethnic groups while you pass through terraced rice fields along a series of powerful rivers and waterfall on you way to Lumbini. You will have time to further explore the mystique of the city in the evening while relaxing in the same atmosphere that inspired Buddha in his spiritual persuits. 

Day 04: Lumbini Tour

We will begin by visiting the legendary Maya Devi temple home to original Buddhist scripture, details about the birth of Buddha, and home to the first place Buddha came in contact with the earth. The timeless Ashokan Pillar marks his place of birth inside the temple. We will then move to the tranquil Puskarni Pond where his mother bathed prior to this birth. We will then visit a series of ruins and holy stupas commemorating different achievements of Buddhism. Finally, we will continue to a charming nearby village to learn more about the practical aspects of Buddhism as practiced by the locals in the region who have passes down their religious traditions for centuries. 
Day 05: Drive to Kathmandu
We will return to Kathmandu along the same scenic route we took to Lumbini. We will have time in the evening to visit any other places of interest, do some souvenir shopping or explore the backpacker haven of Thamel. If you desire, we can include any trip extension including the popular Unesco World Heritage site of Chitwan National Park or the stunning lakeside town of Pokhara.

Day 06: Departure
Depending on your flight time you may be able to see a few more attractions in before departing approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight time. You will be escorted to the airport with a representative from Good Karma trekking staff. After our farewells, you will have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in Nepal with Good Karma, as one time is never enough.

Day 01: Flight to Bhairahawa and travel to Lumbini
Today well will take a scenic 30-minute flight over the Himalayan giants to Bhairahawa before driving to Lumbini. We will explore the spiritual town passing along the international monastery zone where many countries have paid tribute to Lord Buddha by erecting spiritual stupas in his honor.

Day 03: Gotihawa, Kudan and Tilaurakot
We will spend the day exploring additional holy sights located around Lumbini. We will first visit Gotihawa, which is known to be the birthplace of the previous incarnation of Buddha known as Krakuchanda. A famous pillar erected by the Indian emperor Ashoka honors this sight and makes a great visit for those more interested in Buddha’s previous life. We then continue to the stupa and monastery town of Ramgram, which was the location Buddha, met King Suddhodhana following his enlightenment to spread his teachings. Finally, we will visit the ancient capital of of Tilaurakot where Budhha spent 29 years of his life before returning to Lumbini. 

Day 04: Devadaha and Ramagrama

We will visit Devdaha famous for being the home of Maya Devi as well as Buddha’s wife and stepmother. This location was visited by Buddha following his enlightenment and was a major center of his teachings and a major reason for the rapid adoption of Buddhism in the region. We then visit Ramgram which is home to an ancient brick stupa housing many of Buddhas belongings which have been preserved since his funeral. Finally we will take a scenic return flight to Kathmandu with a farewell diner to complete your journey.
